Kambi Group To Provide Sportsbook Software In Ontario After April Launch

2022/03/22

Stockholm sportsbook technology supplier Kambi Group has been given the go-ahead to provide its product to the best online casinos in Ontario once the iGaming market goes live on April 4.

Kambi are a leading B2B sports betting platform for online and on-property products, who offer a cutting-edge sportsbook, allowing sites to be unique, optimise margins and retain players. They say they are the difference between just a ‘good’ sports betting site and an ‘excellent’ one.

Kambi has earned registration as a Gaming-Related Supplier from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), so they can supply their software to any legitimate Canadian casinos online in the province.

Kambi CEO Delighted At Sportsbook Registration

Kristian Nylén, Kambi CEO and co-founder, said: “I’m delighted that Kambi has become one of the first sportsbook providers to obtain registration from the AGCO.

"This landmark achievement is a testament to Kambi’s expertise and exemplary track record in compliance, and we are excited to be in a position to deliver our market-leading sportsbook technology to our partners’ customers in Ontario from day one."

Kambi Partners Hope To Gain Ontario Licence

Kambi can supply Ontario-licensed partners NorthStar Gaming, owners of NorthStarBets, once the market goes live. Their other partners, LeoVegas AB, 888sport, MaximBet and Kindred Group are also aiming to launch in Ontario.

Kambi senior vice president of sales, Sarah Robertson, said part of the challenge for Kambi and similar iGaming firms will be learning what the Ontario market wants. However, she believes Kambi’s relationship with NorthStar could give them an edge.

"Canadians are not the same consumers as US consumers. I think that’s going to be something that everyone will have to learn how to navigate and figure out what works for that demographic and for the Ontario consumers."

"(NorthStar has) a really interesting background with The Toronto Star. And I think they’ve got a really strong team in place,” Robertson said. “So, it’s going to be a really interesting combination of a great, varied, well-positioned team and then a lot of marketing potential with the readership and viewership of The Toronto Star.”
