Land-based casinos and bingo halls in Ontario Canada are officially back to full capacity as of October 25, 2021, following an extended period of limited attendance due to the Coronavirus pandemic, according to Gambling Insider.
Capacity restrictions were eased on most indoor venues around the province, with proof of vaccination also no longer required for gamblers heading to their local casino.
Premier of Ontario Doug Ford commented: “Thanks to our cautious and careful approach to re-opening, we are now in a position to gradually lift all remaining public health measures over the coming months.
This plan is built for the long term. It will guide us safely through the winter and out of this pandemic while avoiding lockdowns and ensuring we don’t lose the hard-fought gains we have made."
The plan is to have all restrictions lifted in Ontario by March 2022 - but casino fans will have all the choice in the world from the best Ontario casino sites well before that date.
The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), or more specifically their subsidiary called iGaming Ontario, will be in charge of reviewing and regulating online casino operators for Ontario later this year where a plethora of new online casinos will hit the market for Ontario players.
Casino operators were granted permission to apply for a license in September 2021. Overall it's great news for players, with more options and competition for customers likely to yield a better overall casino experience.
